In this episode Mr Amir Khan has brought into lime light the much neglected taboo topic of Alcoholism. In the beginning a real life example named Mr Vijha Simha shares his journey from being an Alcoholic to a well known name in the field of Journalism. Mr Vijha shares his sentiments helping us understand how devastating an Alcohol use can be. The second part of the video contains a professional’s point of view including Dr Ashish Deshpandey, a known psychiatrist who has been working on alcoholism for a long time. Dr Ashish starts with clearing the misconception about alcoholism being a habit rather a disease. He indicates the role of genes and how genetic deficiency leads from being a user to becoming an addict. Later in the video he indicates the signs and symptoms that indicate your love one is pushing himself into trouble and that he/she needs help. In answering a question regarding the treatment Dr Pandey indicates that the real challenge is not about stopping to drink rather it’s about staying sober. Third part of the episode contains a story of a recovery patient from Alcohol Anonymous who was into alcoholism for 40 years and finally managed to get out of the vicious cycle of Alcoholism. Followed by this, a country’s famous poet and author, Mr Javed Akhtar, shares his part of the great inspirational story when he had to fight with this chronic disease and finally he managed to defeat it. In the last part of the episode, a father shares the story of how his teenage only son became victim of someone else’s mistake and has to pay the price by giving up his life.
