The goal of an intervention is to encourage a substance abuser to seek help with his or her drug problem.
This episode, season 12, episode 6, from the TV series “Intervention” unveils devastating stories of two individuals who tragically fall prey to the claws of drug addiction.
‘Intervention’ is a documentary series that looks around the real life of an addict. The current episode is hosted by Willing Ways channel, a channel where you can also find many other educational videos covering various aspects of life. The episode specifically focuses on how the life of an addict is at stake and simultaneously how it affects the family. These episodes have the most dramatic moments that brings above the fact indicating the difference between life and death. The ultimate goal of the intervention was to convince the person to accept addiction treatment.

Ivan, 28 years old, is addicted to Phencyclidine (PCP) he smokes PCP up to five times a day. At 13, Ivan began writing and recording original music. By 16, he was working with celebrities and making $1,500 per show. At 17, Ivan started living the ‘thug life’ as part of his persona which led him to the wrong path. At 18, Ivan was convicted of theft and sentenced to a year in prison. After being released, he was unable to find new management.

Dorothy has been drinking since the age of 12. She drinks up to 18 beers a day. She has been cutting herself for 8 years and has been admitted to behavioral hospitals for self-inflicted wounds three times. When she was 14, her mother remarried and that same year, started attention seeking behaviors. Her step father reported she was completely out of control.
In their intervention, their family reveals how deeply saddened and devastated they are and implores them to seek treatment to which they both agree. Ivan has been sober since October 11, 2011. Dorothy has been sober since September 14, 2011.
