Being the citizens of Pakistan we are very much affected by terrorist activities. What we experience is known as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Human race have faced many such disasters e.g 9/11 which affected our psychological and emotional health. To control terrorism, like many other nations we need to follow the rules which are already mentioned in the laws on which there is a consensus by everyone. Dr Sadaqat mentioned the role of United Nations (UN) which is to promote health and peace. He suggested that being a nation we must also follow the same rules and regulations.

In order to get out of stress we need to minimize our frame regarding the future apprehensions. Instead of thinking about the long term consequences we need to make immediate changes in our present lives. We need to think about the current situation which is to think about the current day or current hour. Do not get immobilized; keep on doing something like a walk or some other activity this will ultimately reduce anxiety. Take a balance diet in small chunks like 6 times a day which should be rich in carbohydrates. Do not take out your stress on someone else rather be kind to each other. Search more knowledge about the current world matters and keep doing exercises.

Depression (major depressive disorder) is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel the way you think and how you act. Fortunately, it is also treatable. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems and can decrease a person’s ability to function at work and at home. It is normal for feelings of sadness or grief to develop in response to bad situations. Those experiencing loss often describe them as being “depressed.”But sadness and depression are not the same. The grieving process is natural and unique to each individual and shares some of the same features of depression. Both grief and depression may involve intense sadness and withdrawal from usual activities. For people between the ages of 10 and 24, suicide is the third leading cause of death. There are a number of different types of depression including: Major depression, Chronic (dysthymia), Bipolar depression, Seasonal depression (SAD or Seasonal Affective Disorder), Psychotic depression, Postpartum, Substance-induced mood disorder (SIMD). Many factors may contribute to the onset of depression, including genetic characteristics, changes in hormone levels, certain medical illnesses, stress, grief, or substance abuse. Psychotherapy, medication, exercise and life style changes can play an important part in treating depression. To enhance your knowledge please view the following videos titled:

Dr Sadaqat Ali describes the role of counselors in weight reduction. In addition, he suggests that obesity falls next to heroin use. Therefore, heroin addiction and food addiction are next to one another. Obesity is a disorder of thought. It is considered to be a brain and psychological disorder which involves the role of our emotions. We may experience weak moments in which we may tend to eat more than usual. Usually out of twenty four hours, there are specific four to five hours in which obese people tend to eat more. Refined foods have become very common and their availability has become easier. Two people out of three are victim to obesity. Women may tend to gain more weight than men. In our culture, food is commonly seen as means to entertain people. It all depends on one’s motivation. There are numerous ways of achieving it. A causal attitude does not work. Food journaling may help. Obesity may lead to problems such as diabetes, increased blood pressure, etc. Relying on just your will power may not work since will power keeps on fluctuating. The use of skill power should be put to practice. Taking breaks between meal times may help. One can also download various weight reduction applications on their cell phone.

In this video Dr Sadaqat Ali talks about survival toolkit for women. Dr Sadaqat Ali is a renowned addiction psychiatrist and project director of Willing Ways Pakistan

Women face discrimination since birth. Unlike boys’, people don’t welcome and celebrate a girl’s arrival as much. Even if they do, it is superficial. Moreover, women need to work and struggle harder than men to achieve something in life.

Dr. Sadaqat further explains that different factors can either make a person to face the challenges or back down. If a person commits to face a challenge, he becomes strong. When a woman commits to face challenges, she surpasses the men, because women are more resilient by nature. They can withstand many challenges, from painful process of giving birth to raising the child till maturity.

At times, women are hesitant to take responsibilities, owing to the paradigm that women are delicate. Nowadays beside men, women are playing their part in society equally and much better even. A woman is a complete person, if she acts proactively and takes responsibility of her life, she cannot only sustain, but thrive in life too. Dr. Sadaqat recommends that women should evade from gossips and emphasizes on educating themselves. Working on one’s intrinsic security can boost a woman’s self esteem. Teenage is a crucial age for girls to develop in-depth understanding with parents. Sense of humor and forgiving personality are trademarks of successful women.

Dr. Sadaqat Ali talks about Stress management and performance in cricket

[KGVID]http://videos.willingways.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Dr-Sadaqat-video-about-Cricket-Fever.mp4[/KGVID]

butnIn this video Dr Sadaqat Ali speaks about Stress management and performance in cricket. Dr Sadaqat Ali is a renowned addiction psychiatrist and project director of Willing Ways Pakistan

Dr. Sadaqat Ali suggests some valuable and practical solutions of stress management that can contribute to winning performance for the cricket players. Certain amount of stress is healthy to increase the performance; however an excess has a negative affect.

He also explained the role of amygdala brain. It is a part of brain that regulates emotions and directly involves in stress. This part of brain operates on “ON and OFF” principal. But prolonged stress causes amygdala to stay “ON” which decreases the ability to involve in higher mental processes (decision making, problem solving and reasoning). Dr. Sadaqat believes that cricket players are mentally very strong and can learn to control their stress. In Cricket, players need to be calm so they can make good decision and at same time they have to utilize their energy for better motor coordination. In this game, balance between amygdala brain and thinking process is important.

Players can reduce anxiety and overwhelming thoughts by just focusing on ball, rather focusing on score-board. During play, they can use mindfulness, focus on just here and now and live in present moment. Before important matches, walk can be more beneficial than tough physical exercises, sugar intake can be reduced, proper rest and sleep can also be very helpful. Projection of no-win situation in mind only contributes to more stress. Though players can imagine their success, it actually boosts self esteem and even leads to success.

In this video Dr Sadaqat Ali speaks about elderly women married with young men. Dr Sadaqat Ali is a renowned addiction psychiatrist and project director of Willing Ways Pakistan. There is another video on the same topic regarding marriage dispute  titled as problems in martial relationship and solutions.

People confuse with social taboo of age gape in spousal relation. This confusion is more severe when people observe or experience a couple relations with elderly wife and younger husband. Dr Sadaqat discarded this social taboo with advance biological, social and psychological researches. He advocated that people who couple with elder woman are happier than of similar age. Elderly wife is more emotionally mature and can tackle domestic work efficiently than wife who is younger than husband. She also has good compatibility in understanding, compromise and in sexual relation. Dr Sadaqat Ali has also highlighted the factor of mutual understanding and respect in spousal relation with an age gape. Along with compatibility, understanding is another important factor is successful relationship. Relationship is better when wife is successful e.g. she has wealth, well educated, handsome job etc. Elderly wife is more careful to home and husband due to her maturity and age. Dr Sadaqat Ali indicates, modern researches have refuted the mindset that elderly wife is like a motherly figure. He suggests a very good method to check the spousal relation with age gap that is “test of time”. In this method relation can be tested upon one or two years before marriage, if relationship works well than it can end up being a healthy relation in future.

In America, according to research, around 65% men get involve in extra-marital affairs. In Pakistan, ratio of infidelity in women is very less as compare to men. There are various reasons for this issue. One of the common reasons is when wife can’t give confidence to her husband, hurts his ego and induces shame in him, he starts looking for someone who converts his shame into self respect. There are few symptoms that shows man is cheating on his woman. First of all, he loses his interest in her, disturbed relation all the time, can’t stand her, but this varies from person to person. Sometimes infidelity induces guilt in man and to compensate, he tries to be even better than before. To tackle unfaithful husband, wife needs to be cool headed first. She should not create issue to solve issue. She should seek help from someone who is close and respectable for her husband. As compare to women, men handle the infidel situation in a much better because they are clear headed and solution oriented and take logical decisions. There is another video on the same topic titled as Disloyal partner .Keywords to save relation are “respect”, “love” and “friendly behavior”. If ever in life, either of spouse gets detracts, only love can bring him/her back because love is very powerful.

In this video Dr Sadaqat Ali speaks about crucial conversation. Dr Sadaqat Ali is a renowned addiction psychiatrist and project director of Willing Ways Pakistan

In this video Dr Sadaqat Ali talks about “Crucial Conversation” based on being assertive, using proper expression of emotions and the catharsis. It stipulates that we should not be rigid or stubborn which can result in pushing us into a problem with no solution ahead. To avoid such situations in which one party can become irrational, stubborn or aggressive we should avoid making other shameful, directly confronting them or becoming egoistic resulting in person being reactive and aggressive towards their spouse.

We can apply assertiveness in our behavior as well as the problem identification in order to maintain relationships and not to destroy their foundations by accusing the other party of wrong doing. This is because every relationship is of mutual nature and both parties are equally accountable. We should quit negative coping mechanisms such as talking to friends or relatives because they can be biased on the complainant’s perspective. We should seek a solution with a professional who is trained in dealing such problems and on top of that a third party arbitration is better as they don’t hold any grudges or biases and are impartial to both parties in a conflict.

Following role play is between husband and wife and main issue is financial in nature. With wife claiming of withholding funds and not allowing to spend while the husband maintains that the needs are fulfilled and there is no need of any further spending as it is already very hard to earn.
